Boids

Boids is an artificial life program, which simulates the flocking behaviour of birds, and related group motion.

These boids live in a spherical world where the diameter of the sphere is 400 meters, but the e visual range of each Boid is only 8 meters.

Each Boid will follow 3 rules, and these rules only applies within the visual range of the Boid:

• Cohesion: Move towards the center of the flock it can see.
• Separation: Don't crash into other Boids. Be close, but not too close.
• Alignment: Change its rotation to match the average direction of the flock it can see.

In addition to the 3 golden rules of Boid behavior, this simulation includes the concept of a Predator.

The Predators doesn't flock, and will wander randomly through their world. If a Boid sees a Predator, it will flee as fast as it can in the opposite direction.

Hand Tracking
Your finger tips are also Predators. Try interacting with the flocks to see what happens!

Colors
Each flock has its own color. Boids only care about flocking with Boids of the same type, so you will notice that the different flocks don't impact each others behavior at all.
Orange Flock: 100 000 individual Boids.
Green Flock: 100 000 individual Boids.
Predators: 15-50 individual Predators.
